Green Tea & Aloe Vera Facial Mask

It's important for me to take care of my skin as I get old and one of the factors that I consider when doing my skin-care routine is the weather or climate.

I kid you not, it's really cold here in Baguio City now, and during this season I noticed that my skin is dry and it looks tired even though I have plenty of sleep. Experiencing these skin problems, I think it’s the best time for me to make and share the Green Tea and Aloe Vera Facial mask. This facial mask helps my skin looking fresh, moisturized, rejuvenated and tight.

Green Tea

Green tea is not only good for managing one's weight, but also for people who have acne prone skin. This wonderful plant contains Polyphones, which are a class of bioflavonoid, that are antioxidant, anticancer, antibacterial, and antiviral properties.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera’s wonderful gel contains two hormones: Auxin and Gibberellins. These two hormones provide wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin inflammation. Some people studies show that Aloe is used to effectively heal chronic skin problems, such as psoriasis, acne and eczema.

STEPS:

1.) Prepare aloe vera leaves and a bag of green tea.
2.) Wash the aloe leaves, peel and remove the gel from the inside. Crash the gel using the back of the spoon or blender. Set aside.
3.) Open the tea bag. (Match Green Tea works well too)
4.) Combine the green tea and aloe vera gel.
5.) Refrigerate for 5-10 min (for cooling effect).
6.) On a clean face, apply the mask. Let it stay for 15-30 minutes.
7.) Wash it off with lukewarm water.

You can also add honey for additional skin-saving benefits.

I add these to my skincare regimen every weekend and the difference always surprises me.
